Madonna: The Woman

Who is one of those artists that had their star journey back in the day until now?  Well Madonna is that gal.  She became famous during the 80’s as a female musician still continuing her career today.  Reinventing her style and personality has set her for life.

Madonna has been one of those artists that just never seem to go away.  She reinvents herself with the time, so that her style and music live on. She is a style icon due to the fact of change she creates.   She brought about sexual ideas in her music, videos, and photographs.  Her single, Like a Virgin supports this erotic idea.  As soon as she started becoming successful, she had 10 top ten hits one right after the other.

People in the modern age of music use her as inspiration and
strongly admire her.  Artists such as Britney Spears have been majorly influenced and have created controversial issues.  One example would be their live kiss on MTV during the MTV music awards.

Being the amazing woman that she is, Madonna not only sang but also acted.  She starred in Evita earning nominations and a golden globe award for best actress.

Madonna shows that it is more important to leave lasting impressions on people then just sing a song and be a performer. She brings about controversial issues and supports important topics at the time.  I admire her spunk, but also how she is an intelligent individual that knows who she is and what she stands for.

  1. Great post, Jake! I wrote about Madonna, too. I liked how you distinguished the difference between other artists and Madonna. The reason why so many people remember her from the eighties is because of her lasting impressions and risky performances. Even though I should not make this comparison, Lady Gaga is like Madonna. Similarly to Madonna, Lady Gaga has been extremely controversial and took risks. She will be remembered forever and so will Madonna.

  2. Nice job. I would have liked more detail, and perhaps a sense of how Madge was received at the time. But otherwise, this is good.

  3. Great job, Jake! It was really interesting to learn about Madonna as an artist. She was a very controversial performer when she first became famous, mainly because of her expressive sexuality. It is amazing that she is still around today. Great job!

  4. Great job, Jake. Your post about Madonna does a very nice job of relating her controversial past in the 1980's to her provocative actions more recently, including her kiss with Britney Spears. The fact you can put these events into a larger context regarding her is impressive.
